Living Colour "Vivid" cover art!

Living Colour “Vivid” cover art!

Have you ever been stuck in your normal groove, and walked into a ice cream parlor hoping to switch things up? What’s your favorite colour? Just as ice cream flavors have developed some mind blowing combinations through the years (like Wasabi Flowers), certain albums have taken the flavor concept to new heights. With their release of debut album “Vivid” (Epic) back on May 3rd, 1988, Living Colour took the world by storm, blending many distinctive flavors including R&B, Funk, Rock, and Metal, charting their success all the way to #6 on the Billboard 200, and ultimately reaching double platinum status! Featuring 11 unforgettable songs of brilliance such as “Funny Vibe,” “Desperate People,” and their standout hit, “Cult Of Personality,” “Vivid” brought the music masses together by destroying perceived genre walls with inspired creative individuality and jams! Simply put, this album destroyed musical and racial barriers, creating a whole new rock fan in the process—including me! Currently consisting of three original members (Cory Glover, Vernon Reid, and Will Calhoun), and joined now by Doug Wimbash, Living Colour is still touring and making great music today.

Join us today as we celebrate 28 years of Living Colour’s “Vivid!” We’ll be playing a different “Rocking Friday” choice cut at 20 minutes after the hour all day long on! Join us every Friday for a new & exciting “Rocking Friday” artist!
